If Your Go-To Cookie is Chocolate Chip, You’re Basic. Here’s Why.

I can’t help but think about all of the people that I’m surrounded by and wonder what their lives are like when we are no longer around each other. Coincidentally,  I happened to scroll through social media one day to find a rather peculiar debate taking place. Interestingly enough, this debate was between individuals arguing that chocolate chip was better than oatmeal raisin. I was bored enough to actually read their comment thread, and I must say that I was shocked with the direction the conversation was going. Oatmeal raisin was outnumbered!Cookie-Monster-cookie-crumbs

I know you may think that this is silly, but think carefully about it. What a person eats is a great way to tell you about them. I believe that individuals who eat oatmeal and cranberry/raisin are a sophisticated bunch with mature tastes. They’re the type of people who have been through every single cookie flavor and their taste buds are ready to settle down to something cozy. The type of person to eat white chocolate and macadamia nuts is someone who is the life of the party. They’re glamorous and want you to know it too as they pair white chocolate with a Moscato wine.  Somebody who is bold enough to eat peanut butter with candy pieces and fudge is definitely a bold individual who has no fear(of having an upset stomach). Lastly, people who prefer chocolate chip are just bland and childish indivuals that need to expand their palette. They are the type of people who still eat kid’s meals and will go to an expensive restaurant just to order chicken tenders. I bet the people who favor chocolate chip cookies are the same people that order pumpkin spice lattes, eat mint chocolate chip ice cream, and are picky about the vegetables they eat.

Has anyone ever wondered why chocolate chip is the default cookie? If ever you go to any sort of social function that offers desserts, you can almost guarantee that if a cookie were to be served, it’d be chocolate chip. Why is this? Famous Amos, Chips Ahoy, Keebler, and Pepperidge Farm, among other brands, all offer the same boring choice of chocolate chip. It’s because you like to play it safe and even the cookie companies have you figured out now. Why don’t you take a chance and come over to the wild side? Instead of going along with your usual bedtime routine, I encourage you to live life on the edge and try a new flavor.Cookie_1

What is it about chocolate chip cookies that just entraps people and prevents them from experiencing the plethora of flavors that have been developed? Are you guys really living life? I can’t possibly fathom why people would even limit themselves to the most basic and overrated flavor in the cookie kingdom.
