It seems like boy bands and girl groups have been on the quiet side since Destiny’s Child, ‘N sync, and Menudo have been on the scene among other chart topping groups.
Has anyone else noticed that there is a revival among musical groups with the likes of One Direction, Little Mix, Mindless Behavior, OMG Girlz, The Wanted and other teen pop acts? I know what y’all must be thinking. “Musical groups haven’t gone anywhere” and “blah blah blah.” I’m a child of the 90s and I cant think of any groups right off the top of my head that rose to stardom and stayed there. Can we all agree that solo artists have pretty much remained dominant over group acts??
What about the reunions of more mature acts like Danity Kane, New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, and TLC?
Speaking of TLC, were you guys able to catch the biopic of the group being portrayed by Keke Palmer, Lil Mama, and Drew Sidora? I personally was amazed with what I saw! Good job girls.
I know that there are so many more groups out there that I haven’t recognized, but the number of groups now is increasing greatly. I predict that we will have a very interesting turn out in the music industry very soon!
